Semax
Semax
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide (Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro) originally developed in Russia as an analog of the adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH 4–10) fragment, but modified to eliminate hormonal activity. It has been widely investigated in preclinical and some clinical settings as a potential neuroprotective and nootropic research tool.
In animal models, Semax has been reported to influence neurotrophic factor expression (notably brain-derived neurotrophic factor, BDNF), enhance dopaminergic and serotonergic signaling, and modulate oxidative stress responses. These mechanisms are of interest in studies exploring memory, learning, stroke recovery, and neurodegenerative processes. Researchers often use it to probe pathways tied to cognitive performance and central nervous system resilience.
All products are intended for in vitro or laboratory research use only. This compound is not intended for therapeutic or diagnostic purposes and has not been approved by the FDA for human or veterinary use.
** This product is in lyophilized powder form and requires reconstitution solution (BAC Water) for research.
